During the summer Helsingborg’s Dagblad and Landskrona Foto Festival are exhibiting a Photo Salon in shop fronts in Landskrona’s city centre. Approximately 700 images by 182 photographers from 38 different countries were submitted and assessed by an International jury. Photographer and Curator Nygårds Karin Bengtsson was then tasked with exhibiting a selection of the participating photographers’ work in full.

She fell for the Polish photographer Karolina Jonderko (born 1985), whose “Lost” portrays rooms that have been left untouched after their owners have been missing for many years. The photos are accompanied by letters written to the missing persons, and it is from one of these that the title is borrowed.

Also shown here is “Seamless” by the American Priscilla Briggs (born 1966), inspired by the settings built up for Chinese wedding photography. Briggs has worked in Peking for the last ten years, and her photographs are often about expressions of capitalism and consumerism. In ”Thoughts on romance from the road”, Victoria Crayhon (1964) ,USA, places personal texts on cinema- or motel signs; a diary that for a few hours or days gives those that pass by unexpected impressions before they are taken down.
