Blackbook Publications is a publishing imprint and an artist collective that started in Gothenburg in 2009. What the members of the collective have in common is an interest in the printed photographic image. They have been awarded scholarships and won design awards, their publications have figured in exhibitions and festivals all over the world. Here at Landskrona Fotofestival, Blackbook Publications is showing several new zines made in collaboration with invited artists.

The zine format is generally a cheaper print than a traditional photobook, offering a more playful approach to the printed medium. The project, named Dialog, aims to stimulate each member’s own artistic process – usually a relatively independent work. Inviting another person into such a process, however, can be both sensitive and challenging. Nine members have selected an artist who in one way or another interests them through theme, aesthetic or feeling.
