What could she do? As part of the global Free Shahidul campaign she\u00a0came up with the idea of creating samosa packets, to spread the message about her uncle\u2019s case and the many other political prisoners.\u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019 mass protests broke out in India. Working with fellow activists, she planned a protest action at Tate Modern\u2019s Turbine Hall, in solidarity with Shaheen Bagh \u2013 the large and historically important resistance movement led by Muslim women against the Indian government\u2019s Citizenship Amendment Act. The project was named\u00a0<em>Turbine Bagh\u00a0<\/em>and samosa packets became the medium of protest art.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sofiakarim.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sofia Karim<\/a> is based in London. Her work has been exhibited at leading museums and galleries, among them the Victoria &amp; Albert Museum.
