The authors use the prize to highlight both the general and the specific interest in photobooks when the books tour Swedish libraries, art galleries and museums. In the travelling exhibition the books are accessible so that anyone can browse, read and feel them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s Swedish Photobook Prize attracted nearly 100 entries. Most of them have been published by small publishing imprints or by the photographers themselves, while others have been issued by established publishing houses, both Swedish and foreign. In several cases, the photobook takes a political stance in defence of education, responsibility, ecology, diversity or social justice. The belief that a book can change the course of life and be an intermediary for art, ideas or history continues to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Swedish Photobook Prize is awarded by the Photobook Authors within the Swedish Photographers\u2019 Association. The prize is open to all photobooks. Nearly 100 books were entered for the 2022 prize. An independent jury of five persons nominates five books, one of which is selected as the winner. The winning photographer receives SEK 40,000, the other nominees SEK 10,000 each. The 2022 competition is the 26th time the prize has been awarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The 2022 winner is:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Erik Berglin, <\/strong>The Bird Project 2006\u20132017 (ll\u2019Editions).
