Days in a city

Sandgren-Peterssons pictures from the 1950s and 60s Landskrona

Location: Landskrona Museum, Slottsgatan 1 Opening hours: Tue-Fri & Sun noon-5pm, Sat 10am-5pm. Mondays closed.

For just over 100 years, the family-owned photo studio, SP-FOTO, was an obvious part of Landskrona. It was where you went to take portraits, passports and driving licenses or to have life’s big events documented. The studio eventually became such a familiar place for the residents in Landskrona that it was said that a customer used to put his slippers just inside the door, just like he did at home.

But Sandgren Petersson also took pictures for several reportages, or “outdoor pictures” as they themselves called them. They documented big and small. Everything from prime minister visits and sporting events to workplaces, fires and accidents.

At the Landskrona museum, this unique depiction of a city and its inhabitants is preserved. In the exhibition, we have chosen to focus on the Landskrona of the 50s and 60s.
