Welcome to an artist talk by the Peruvian photographer Sharon Castellanos.
Sharon will talk about her artistic practice and the photographic project she is working on right now during her residency in Landskrona.
Sharon Castellanos is a photographer based in Cusco, Peru. She has worked 4+ years as a press photographer for a national coverage newspaper in Lima city and as a correspondent in Cusco and Puno regions (South of Peru).
For the past years, she has been working with video and other digital tools such as animation and web platforms for storytelling as tools to integrate with photography.
‘Part of my photographic practice has been focused on the relationship between the human being and the environment and the socio-cultural idiosyncrasy as a background. In that sense, for the residency, I would be interested in exploring a theme in the same lines, I would expect to learn more about the dynamics of local farming, science process such as the legacy of Tycho and Sophie Brahe, and the idea of new ruralism in Landskrona.’ Sharon Castellanos
