Landskrona Foto Festival 2018 took place from September 14 to 23 in Landskrona, Sweden, marking its sixth edition. The festival transformed the city into a vibrant hub for contemporary photography, with exhibitions presented in parks, shop windows, and cultural institutions—emphasizing the integration of photography into public spaces.
Notable participants included South African photographer Gideon Mendel, who presented his acclaimed series Drowning World, highlighting the human impact of climate change through portraits of flood victims. Other featured artists were Anders Petersen, Alberto García-Alix, Rania Matar, Hicham Benohoud, Weronika Gęsicka, Emanuel Cederqvist, and Marianne Maric.
The festival program included artist talks, portfolio reviews, photobook days, seminars, and workshops. A highlight was the screening of the documentary City of Photographers, followed by a panel discussion with director Sebastián Moreno. The festival concluded with the announcement of the Landskrona Foto and Artproof Portfolio of the Year Award, offering the winner an exhibition opportunity at the next edition.
Under the artistic direction of Jenny Nordquist and Christian Caujolle, the 2018 festival continued its mission to present high-quality international photography and foster dialogue between artists and audiences.
